Intel Introduces Intel Arc, the latest brand of high-performance graphics
The brand name Nvidia or AMD comes to mind as soon as we talk about the Gaming GPU, and it goes without saying that most people are very disappointed with Intel Graphics.
However, Intel has just announced their latest graphics brand, which they say will be a product lineup of high-performance graphic products that goes beyond traditional Intel graphics.
Intel claims to be covering hardware as well as software through this brand called Intel Arc, and is working to improve their technologies as a multi-generation GPU line.
They are announcing that they will be launching their first GPU under this brand under the first quarter of 2022, and will be releasing this GPU, codenamed Alchemist, as a multi-platform for desktop and notebook computers.
Intel has also released a teaser of the gameplay captured using the upcoming GPU.
Intel Arc GPUs include mesh shading, variable-rate shading, video upscaling, and real-time ray tracing capabilities, particularly Nvidia's Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) technology, as well as AMD's FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) technology. It is reported that a super sampling facility implemented through AI will also be included.
Owen added that the new GPUs will be able to upscale video output from games without compromising image quality and frame rate.
Intel will also be competing with AMD and Nvidia in the future, and we will be able to learn more about this in the first quarter of next year.
