At the CES 2017 event, Intel introduced the Intel compute card, another complete computer with CPU, GPU, RAM, Wifi, Bluetooth inside a credit card size package.
The purpose of the Intel compute card was to create a range of smart devices that could be easily upgraded. Going by that, nexdock is the first smart device to use the intel compute card.
Nexdock is a 2 in 1 laptop. Powered by an Intel compute card module, the Nexdock laptop has a two-slot touch screen. One slot can swap a compute card and the other slot can swap input output modules or an extra battery as needed. Since the operating system and the entire computer are on the compute card, there is no need to update this Nexdock device from time to time. When the compute card becomes too obsolete to use the latest software, you have to replace it with a new compute card.
Also, devices that provide a full desktop experience like Windows mobile continuum, Ubuntu mobile can be connected to this Nexdock via USB-C port.
